How many studios does the BBC have at TVC? I'm aware of N6 (BBC One) and N9 (World) studios. But are there more? If so, are they named N1, N2, N3, etc...?
N7 is TC7 which is used for Breakfast, newsround, newsnight, working lunch and i believe breakfast with frost. N8 is BBC News 24. N1, 2, 3 are older news studios one of which used to be the BBC World Arabic news studio or something. Wheres ScottC when you need him cause he knows.
I think it has 10 studios in total which are just numbered TC1-10. Is TC1 still the biggest studio in europe? The news studios i have not counted as they are only used for news.
It might be an idea to knockup a 'TV Home FAQ' for this as the topic (not your fault!) appears regularly. So, for one last time, what's the information please?

N studios are News studios operated by BBC News/News Resources.
Those currently three in service. These are N6, N8 and N9. Some BBC News programmes are broadcast from these, with some exceptions. N1,2 and 3 were once news studios, but they were de-commissioned. N1 and N2 are now refurbished and have moved into BBC Resources control. N3 is now no-longer used for News broadcasting. N4 was a ghost name for a different studio. N5 was a studio used for the short lived BBC Arabic TV service.
TC studios are also at TV Centre, and are operated by BBC Resources. These are used for BBC programmes, but are also available for hire by other broadcasters, such as UK TV (and even ITV - the recent British Soap Awards on ITV were recorded at BBC TV Centre)
TC1 is the largest studio at TVC (and is one of the largest studios in the UK) It was used for the BBC election broadcast, and is home to programmes like Children In Need, 2000 Today etc.
TC2 was used by BBC News and Current Affairs, then re-equipped, and is a small (by TVC standards) studio used for entertainment type programmes
TC3 is currently being refurbished, and will be the home to Top Of The Pops I believe
TC4 is a medium sized studio and used for quite a few progs.
TC5 is BBC Sport's studio and home to Grandstand. At one point it was split into two - to allow BBC Choice to do a daily sports show. I think this split may be reversed over the summer. I believe this studio is being refurbed as well.
TC6 is a medium sized studio, and unusually has it's gallery on the same level as the studio floor (other studios have their galleries on the 1st floor). It was the first digital studio at TVC and was originally planned to be used for drama and sitcoms.
TC7 is a smallish studio, and is hired permanently by BBC News for it's larger programmes.
TC8 is a medium sized studio.
TC9 is a studio AND presentation area, used by Childrens' BBC for their links on BBC One/Two and Choice.
TC0 is the old Television Centre Music Studio - it is not as well equipped as other TVC studios for live broadcasting, but is the main Virtual studio at TVC. Until recently it was the home of Liquid News, and before that the Phone Zone (for UK Play)
TC 10 is used by UK Play. It is a refurbished News Studio - it used to be called N1 and was the home of BBC World and before that other BBC News programmes.
TC11 has been bought by BBC News, in a similar way to TC7. It is a refurbished News Studio, and used to be the home of the One/Six and Nine O'Clock News.
Once TC3 is refurbished (and assuming TC 5 returns to being a single studio) there will be 12 TV Centre studios, and 3 News studios. That makes 15 ?
oh i was told a fib. ScottC told me they all begin with W. (i wont hold it against you).
Eeek - I forgot W1 and W2. These are the two weather studios. You could also probably add Sport 24 - the News 24 sports studio I suppose... Oh - and Online have a little multicamera set-up as well...
I remember Going Live and (until recently) Live & Kicking coming from 'Studio 7' - the presenters always used to tell everyone! Is this not the same as TC7?
