On a CBBC point of view, what are they doing with the channel, are all of their links pre recorded also?
And what about the live programmes, Nelly Nut, X Change and the Newsround updates?
I noticed that the website featured on One was dated as friday (surely they'd have covered that up!), and that titles are playing out in full, as they usually do on Breakfast.
I also noticed that the idents were going out silent earlier on, but surely the audio is on the ident already, so are they just playing them out muted?

AFAIK, the audio soundtrack and video are separate - As I have seen a couple of idents with the wrong soundtrack before.

Well if they forget to open the fader then we're not going to hear any audio. The announcement is more "important" than the ident audio, so that will be the priority; that and getting the following programme out!

Nelly Nut is not live!!
How could it be live?
It is live - bit like that irritating cat thing on Live and Kicking in the 90s. The pitch and tone of Nelly's narrator alters the shape of the digital cartoon's mouth.

It is live, usually. It's a concept developed in another country where the sound of somebody talking moves the mouths of the characters on screen, so technically the people are sat in a booth somewhere talking away and to callers live.
As for X Change they've decided to play out a pre record (well I presume it's a pre record) of the Class Wars winners party.
Interesting that the audio and vision is played out seperate, well interesting to me anyway.

AFAIK Nelly is live - how else would she be able to talk to callers etc. She has her own special studio.
As explained to me by Aston a while back, Nelly Nut is directed separately as it has it's own computer software, it is a single source on the vision mixer in TC2. All the bits where she talks to callers are live - and other bits are usually pre-recorded at some point during the day.
