I'm a bit confused. I don't know about the other nations (Wales and N.I) but in Scotland we have been following network at least until 6pm for the news. So why did they follow the network for the begginning of the day? Confused Confused

Because there was no one in to do the junctions, presumably.

Yeah I would have thought that myself. But if the Continuity announcers are on strike as well then I don't see them crossing the picket line just to do the news junction.

I noticed that Wales and N.I. are still on air Confused

Wales has been all day.

Wales has been all day.

The majority of BBC Wales presentation staff were out on strike today.

As are most of BBC NI Presentation staff.

(Said Mark, who's on leave, not on strike, but who would be on strike if he wasn't on leave).

Must be the minority keeping most of it on air.

What an utterly logical point that is. Well done to you.

How has this strike affected S4C?

Live coverage of the Lions is going out tonight, but I'm not sure this is a BBC production.

Newyddion is scheduled to air after it.

Sorry about the bad quality

Am I the only who finds this person annoying? Do we really need bad caps of an internet streamed BBC World that don't really show anything interesting?

Stephen Cole still presenting on the 10. Wonder who will present after, unless the normal overnight presenters after 12am, in which case I wouldn't be surprise to see him present until then.

A little odd - a BBC NEWS overlay complete with www.bbc.co.uk URL on BBC1 for the 10, yet nothing at all on News 24.

If the strike continues till midnight I doubt the regular presenter be ready to host the midnight bulletin.

Answering my own question, the rugby wasn't produced by the BBC for S4C (though 5 Live did get commentary on air). Keith Jones (not a regular newsreader) hosted tonight's Newyddion, which was shortened anyhow due to the rugby.
