Interesting that we got the new graphics today for the Great North Run but got the old graphics for the City Games yesterday
Thats the sort of consistancy you expect from the BBC.
To be fair to the BBC they said that the new graphics would be rolled across all sports over the year however I agree it's a bit random the City Games had the old graphics package and the Great North Run today had the new set. Be interesting to see what the BBC use on the PDC Darts next weekend and Snooker events later on in the year that just moved to the previous set last year.

Not exactly BBC Sport operated, but I'm interested in what the regions do, even they you mixed graphics depending on region, North West Tonight and Spotlight seem to have the outgoing graphics with animations, whereas Yorkshire seems to recreate their own due to limitations:

Well that looks horrendous.
Never understood how BBC regional news in general can be so inconsistent and shoddy-looking when ITV manage, on the whole, to look respectable in most regions.

That shoddy mock up from Leeds is even more annoying when you consider that the Super League Show is produced from the same studio so they have the kit to do it properly.

For all the bashing that ITV Regional news gets, it is impressive that the regions maintain a cohesive look the entire time - the theme tune is never messed with, the sets are the same (although this is not necessarily a good thing), everything is always in the correct font (something very rare in any big company) and there are never any naff homemade graphics. If a region wants something done nicely they seem to have a wealth of templates and can ask the ITV News graphics hub if they need something a bit more bespoke. I suppose though that the ITV regions all have the same kit, with the exception of UTV?
Saying that, the mish-mash of brands, fonts and the like you see on the BBC is not the product of having different kit really, perhaps just a lack of training in some areas?

I noticed on the City Games on Saturday - the opening titles featured the new white graphics and typeface - yet the actual programme featured the black graphics and old font??
Also during Match Of The Day - Gary Lineker did an interview on one of the LCD screens with a manager - below the screen was the old BBC Sport yellow logo with the old font?? Even though the rest of the programme featured the new graphics - even the logo under the desk had the new font??
This is terrible inconsistency.

I've never really understood why BBC News use the sports graphics when they really don't sit that well with the BBC News look. Would be better just for BBC News to have sports graphics of their own, especially in the regions.
