The oxfordshire opts are from Southampton. But are they pre recorded??

I don't think they are pre-recorded because things sometimes go wrong on the Oxon opt and often it seems live; the presenter apologises and stuff. Surely if it was pre-recorded they'd just edit out mistakes?? Confused

So does Sally pre record both sets of headlines or just the oxford ones

I guess she would have to record both sets of headlines. That or she knows something the world's physicists don't. Shocked Hmmm...must have a look for a tardis in the background somewhere... Wink

EDIT: Sorry, I meant recording of headlines would have to happen, not necessarily both.

Lucy Jackson did lunchtime today.

Allan Sinclair did the late bulletin last night. Strange Stuart said the night before Pauline would be back!

Lucy Jackson did the lunchtime news again today. It seems to me that Lucy does more lunchtime bulletins these days probably because Roger isn't there any more.

Don't forget tonight is the "GOING OUT" item is on!

The Oxford opt is presented from the smaller presentation studio at Southampton (now enlarged to have at least two cameras) There are edit suites at Radio Oxford, and a down-the-line studio, but the opt presentation (studio and gallery) is in Southampton.

The 1830 programme has a pre-recorded opening sequence specifically for Oxford where Sally (or whoever is the main pres) reads the opening headlines and then hands to the Oxford presenter - who then picks up live. The 2225 bulletins are entirely split Oxford/Southampton-wise - and both are live.

I don't know if the Southampton 1830 opening headlines are also pre-recorded - it wouldn't be unusual if they were as quite a few regions pre-record their headlines (as of course do ITN for the ITV1 main bulletins...)

I don't think Sally has ever done an afternoon update on BBC 2, its often the person who reads the late news.

I think that as a rule Breakfast, Lunchtime, Weekends and Bank Holidays are all pan-regional (i.e. same programmes for Oxford and Southampton) This is pretty much standard across all of the BBC sub regions (Hull, Cambridge, Oxford and Jersey).

(None of the current sub-regions can opt-out on BBC Two - so there are never any sub-opts on BBC Two - a problem sometimes when the 1830 programme is shifted toTwo because of Wimbledon)

But the online steam from lunchtime shows the South Today (southampton) Titles. What about the titles for oxfordshire?
