BBC slowly giving up on CBBC

I also disagree with Ronant, and agree that what he says does sound like direct marketing from the channels.

It would not cost CBBC any more ( or that much more money if there's repeat fees involved ) to show Grange Hill on CBBC One. I could see the argument if CBBC One was showing new programmes all the time, but it does seem to be filled up more and more with cartoons and repeats.

Why should anyone have to purchase Freeview / satellite / cable just to have access to programmes that were once available on BBC One and Two? ( until it's absolutely necessary ). And in this case it's not the children taking the decision to purchase the equipment it's their parents.

Is the continuity still coming from the CSO screen?

Yes, and it will do for the forseeable future.

Any word or news if there's likely to be a Saturday morning show before the autumn? And are they actually going to bring back a show at all?

No it doesnt does it.

As Im not an avid viewer of CBeebies I haven't seen any idents but from what I've seen (from the rotating DOG and the website) it looks like they've done a CBBC and gone more 3D than the original cartoony blobs.

I don't watch a lot of Cbeebies myself but the studio seems to be very reminiscent of 1983 Children's ITV ie the spaceship era.

Media guardian story on CBeebies " new look " today, although the controller does state it's not " rebranding ". He does say it's aiming up to six year olds, which must mean if CBBC is sticking to primary age kids, the target audience is only a few years...

Says in the RT that Hider In The House finishes on Saturday, any idea what's replacing it, or will there be no "centre piece" to the schedules anymore (if you can call HITH that)?
