There was a BBC Shop near Broadcasting House in Portland Place... IIRC that closed and moved into Broadcasting House itself when they had the BBC Experience running.

Don't they still have that - the BBC shop a few streets away from BH? I could have sworn that I saw it the last time I went up to London. The nearest BBC shop to me is in Kingston, everytime I walked past it there were few people inside it - they must be paying a fortune in rent though as it's outside one of the Bentall Centre entrances.

The one near BH is in Margaret Street, just around the corner.
There's a list of their retail outlets at http://www.bbcshop.com/page/shop

There's a BBC shop where I live - it might be a Southern Counties Radio shop, which would certainly make sense. I shouldn't suppose that's closing.

AFAIK the Belfast BBC Shop was the branch where customer orders from any of the shops were processed and dispatched...

The BBC Shop in Belfast should come under the BBC Regions brand surely. Belfast is as much part of the UK as the English regions.

bbc worldwide is a seperate entity within the bbc. worldwide is the commercial arm. its not the case that the difference between the two chains of shops is the brand. the difference is they were set up and operated by two different organisations, one being a commercial company - the other being the public service bbc.
branding only comes into it in as much as the english regions shops carry the name of the local radio/bbc centre, as in "bbc birmingham" or "southern counties radio".
