all programmes will be shown,

hopeful, around peak time

will before midnight At least!

I asked them to get somebody to phone me back once from BBC Scotland but they always mysteriously seemed to phone and leave a message when I was at work.

Sometimes I ask them to phone me back when they know what time they are calling back...that foxes them lol

Email from BBC Scotland regarding scheduling of several programmes...

Dear Andrew

Thank you for your e-mail regarding 'Life on Mars'.

I understand that regional programmes may not appeal to you personally, but if I may explain, BBC Scotland has a Charter remit to provide programmes of particular local interest and there is clear audience demand for this type of programme.

We try to find the very best balance between national and local programming, bearing in mind that what appeals to one section of the audience will invariably have less appeal for others. Ultimately we hope that there is something for everyone across the weekly schedule.

Nevertheless I understand that you may still not agree and therefore let me assure you that your complaint has been registered on our daily audience log. This internal document will be made available to the scheduling team and Senior BBC Management.

Feedback of this nature helps us when making decisions about future BBC programmes and services and your comments will play a part in this process.

Your comments have been fully registered on our daily audience log. This internal document will be made available to the BBC Scheduling team and Senior BBC Management.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact us.

Piffle.

I mailed back and said it hardly addressed the issue and a weekly dose of football is hardly a balanced schedule

and how does it count towards local programming?

Never mind BBC Scotland's scheduling this week, what about STV? They've opted out of the UEFA Cup game to show a regional programme and a two hour repeat of Morse.

It's presumably because they can't compete with the Rangers game on BBC2, but it's still a bit of a pain in the arse if you want to switch between the two (unless you've got cable or satellite of course...)

Also very strange to see such a major regional opt-out these days.

Classic moment on commentary there, after plugging the boring-looking CIS Cup final: "It'll be a very different game to this one, this one is interesting and cagey." Laughing

I see / hear a former (veteran) BBC NI announcer was on BBC TWO Scotland continuity duty after the Rangers game this evening. (Unless I'm mistaken, it was Edgar Martin.)

There's been a new-ish voice doing continuity over the last couple of months which I presume is him

Did I just mishear, or did the over-the-credits-woman on Comic Relief: The Apprentice just say the new series of the Apprentice-proper would be on BBC *TWO* Scotland?!

Why is BBC1 Scotland suddenly moving away from Ceefax to News 24 for pre-Sign Zone gaps? Next Tuesday for example, though just for 25 minutes?
