The scheduling of programmes in Scotland isn't really an issue, unless you are reading English listings or expecting to see something based on a TVF discussion. Programme times are well signposted on BBC Scotland, and gone are the days when you heard "except for viewers in Scotland" on a promo or V/O.
BBC2 Scotland put a Network trail out just on Friday there advertising a program that didn't exist @6pm (since the Thursday MasterChef had been bumped there - this itself was a break, since they've usually just played that on Friday when the rest of the UK get the quarter-final and dumped the ¼f itself on Saturday morning).
Friday Nights are the worst though, with HIGNFY randomly switching between 9pm, 9:30pm and 10:35pm in-run, the aforementioned last Room 101 (With Hislop) getting "lost" for some crappy excuse for a "comedy" recently and Karen Dunbar blighting the schedules...

Depending on the time, this could have been due to the whole of BBC Glasgow being evacuated due to a fire alarm for a time on friday, forcing local presentation off-air.

Yes I agree with you - it's not even like BBC One Scotland is showing fresh comedy at 10.35pm it's just a compilation of the best of Chewin' the Fat.

To be fair, we're normally complaining that STV don't opt-out enough...
But surely it's not just whether they opt out enough, it's whether they've go ideas to put in the opt outs or not. Look how difficult they've found it to come up with
original
ideas in the Tuesday / Thursday opt out slots.

Mind you I heard this being said for some programme featured on Breakfast just now -- no idea what programme it was, I was just passing the tellies in asda [how classy].
At least when BBC Wales timeshift programming [which they do a lot] it is always the same night, and it will closedown hours after network if necessary.
I suppose though Scotland never had to put up with 15 to 20 years of C4 programmes timeshifted weeks, if shown ever.
