It has been done in the past, in the days when Sunday Grandstand used to show Sunday League cricket network would often take BBC Wales coverage of Glamorgan's match if their match finished particularly early, complete with all-red /B/ /B/ /C/ Wales Sport branded graphics.

Wonder what sort of headaches shifting the BBC1 output to BBC2 causes for BBC Scotland pres, presumably the pres area will have to stay in circuit all night rather than oping in and out for each junction.

It's only really though a major issue with the football, which is so England biased even in games not involving England.

It's never been a problem though with the Rugby IMO - the nations never see the need to provide their own commentary as the network serves all nations well. I guess though the main focus of BBC rugby coverage has long been predominantly the home nations playing each other.

AFAIK, BBC Scotland pres are in for most of prime time anyway. I would imagine that The Apprentice will be played up the line earlier in the day to save any timing headaches between the two networks.

BBC One Scotland pres is on air 0600-closedown weekdays.

Yeah, but pres being on-air doesn't equate to pres suite being in circuit. I was under the impression that they opted in and out for each junction, or at least certainly used to.

As far as I am aware, BBC One Scotland is always in circuit apart from overnights when they go to News 24. Network BBC One is an outside source.

Relating to the network taking the BBC Scotland coverage, maybe they are too scared of the " gaffes " which Scotland regularly produces in continuity etc.

I don't know if anyone saw " The Cinema Show " on New Year's Day on BBC Four but it talked about when BBC One used to " take " BBC Scotland's Hogmanay show and why they gave up and decided to produce their own shows.

Interestingly enough it showed a debate from the late 60s, with Scottish people saying that BBC Scotland ( in particular The White Heather Club ) portrayed an outdated version of Scotland. Hmmm... Wink

Apparently (and I have no evidence to back this up, but my parents told me about it earlier) BBC Scotland continuity were telling viewers today that the Italy v Scotland game is on tomorrow at 7.30pm. It is of course on Wednesday.

Did anyone see this or should I put them in a home? Laughing

If it is true, then if they can't get the day right, what chance have they got switching BBC1 network to BBC2 Scotland, and vice versa.

They can't even get the timing of the switch between the national news and Reporting Scotland a lot of the time.

And quite often if they're showing their own trailer they switch to the last few seconds of a national trailer. Rolling Eyes

Miaow, miaow, play nicely pussies. Whenever I've seen BBC Scotland's continuity it's always been as good as, and sometimes better, than London and that's probably because more of it is live.

So be careful - the last thing we want is to give Red "cost-effective is our middle name" Bee an excuse to angle for playout of the Nations!

Next Friday ( Good Friday ) Scotland are not getting the premiere of Starskey and Hutch - instead Holby City and a repeat of the Easter Vicar of Dibley. Fab! Rolling Eyes

Am I the only one in Scotland getting fed up of programmes being on at one time on BBC One / Two Scotland and the being showing the next week at a different time, or worse still disappearing from the schedule altogether.

Then get Sky and tune in BBC 1 LDN!
