Thing is you'd never notice the difference if they did. BBC Scotland rarely show any imagine in their presentation. You're not going to see a special ident if we beat the English in rugby.

(I'm Scottish before you read my comments)

Thats because proper broadcasters don't do that! When did you ever see a special 'Didn't we do well at the Olympics' ident for the whole UK? Or even special idents for England WINNING the Rugby World Cup or Ashes?

Theres no point - although I think you'll find in occasions where Scotland has actually achieved something in Sport, say when we won that Winter Olympic Gold - BBC Scotland were very adept at special campaigns congratulating their win / celebrating Scottish Sport, there were BBC Scotland ads in the paper and on the telly etc.

BBC Scotland as just a Joke, there not learned one thing, and things are still all over the place.

there can;t use the 10.35 slot as their use this for other local programmes.

I think there just need to clean bored, and start from whole clean way of showing stuff, if this mean we do not have the same as BBC England then so be it!

Yes I know, but that is unlikely to happen or they would have done it by now. It would cost too much for them to permanently alter their schedule from the network.

The fact is the majority of the country probably don't care if their programmes are changed about now and then, and with Sky + and other PVRs, most people watch it at their own times anyway.

Those would go down so well in Scotland/Wales/NI if their continuity failed to opt

I am aware there is no BBC One England, but if they really wanted to, they could use it into regional junctions. Also, we have to watch the 'victory' specials in Scotland/Wales/NI, so heck, why not the idents too!

They do have regional idents going into the news.

Lest we forget the furore caused during a football tournament when ITV1 Wales showed a bulldog with an English flag as an ident... Shocked

Well maybe ITV Wales aren't technically as amazing and super-humanlly fantastic as BBC Wales (note the sarcasm). Seriously though, I prefer my broadcasters to concentrate on programming and perhaps TV specials rather than pointless nationalistic idents. ' BBC Won'? Oh please!

Bitter much?

Eh, no actually. Quite the opposite. Though it doesn't surprise me that someone would see my comments as 'bitterness'. I'd rather broadcasters didn't waste their time on pointless idents & lets not get too deep into 'jealousy' arguments - that won't end in BBC Wales favour I'm afraid!

Pointless idents like ones for Gramian TV when they are, news aside, identical in service to Scottish TV?

Oh, I'm sorry, are you not aware that we have a pan-Scotland (minus Border Scotland) service called STV?

And where exactly do you find me complaining at the lack of Grampian idents? If you are referring to my name, then it seems to suit your purpose only that my username would be about idents. Perhaps maybe, just maybe, it laments the decline in programming produced in the North of Scotland. Programming, as I'm sure you are aware, is far more important than pointless idents that you can barely use for a week (even if my argument was in favour of Grampian idents, they were advertising a brand/channel/identity as a whole, not simply cheap point-scoring because you beat your neighbour in a match.)
