I know this is a bit off topic, but did I just see TVNZ's Hillary Barry on 'The People's News'?
Yes, you did. I have to say, from what little I've seen, this People's News seems to be a load of rubbish. Just what is the point of watching a bunch of randoms talk about the news? It's bad enough reading Twitter or Reddit, let alone having to see it on TV too.
Didn't the BBC already do a kind of Gogglebox for news a couple of years ago?
I thought they may have news headlines, instead it appeared to be a pre-recorded promo. And calling it "The BBC Scotland Channel" is going to get as annoying as BBC News being called the BBC News Channel.
A massive bit of speculation but if the new BBC News graphics are anything like that used on the preview of the Nine just now I'll be happy - I don't like the currently use of the thin red sliding bars and text that News currently use on their social media videos, and whilst the thin coloured bars carried over from the very brief peek it all animated much nicer, and with a nice mix of serif and sans serif Reith!

They tried it on BBC NI - except they were reacting to the radio.
It's very dull listening to someone's opinion on the news. Unless it's about Theresa May's shoes or her dancing.
Seems to be a lot of unnecessary airmiles for a Scottish channel. Do really like the look of The Nine though - just think how dull it would be as a generic BBC News bulletin.
Has BBC One Scotland been promoting this a lot tonight?

As someone on the other thread on here said, it's the sort of programme you'd have expected back in 2007, when YouTube was new and user-generated-content was all the rage amongst deluded TV execs.

Overall it's a fairly average launch. It could have been much worse but it was much better than I expected.
I think they need to pull the getting hitched asian style programme and the people's news.
Those were the two programmes that you only need to watch as one offs.
