BBC Four and the new channel squashed into one column in the Radio Times now. Reminds me of when Radio Scotland used to share the page with Radio 4 in the eighties.

They should have just given the new channel a place on a different page and squeezed it in with all the other Freeview channels.

Be interesting to see how others deal with it. Did RT ever include STV2 listings? I assume BBC Alba is listed in the variations.

It was listed in the variations column with Alba. Hopefully RT will see sense and list it there eventually.

So they are still pushing ahead with that awful logo I see ..... oh and on top of the really bad layout too... wow.

I'm not sure what Scotland are really getting here. Hopefully the content will be original and strong enough for the channel to be justified and fit into someone's tv viewing.

Are the listings for week 1 online anywhere?

I know I going to sound dumb but is BBC Two (Network) in Scotland broadcasting at the same time as BBC Scotland in the afternoon even though they have similar schedules? If so where is this air time coming from? I am a little confused. Thanks in advance.

Yes, Scotland now gets the same BBC Two as England.... and ALSO the new BBC Scotland channel. So in the afternoon, most afternoons there will be the same programmes on two channels

As for the airtime: On terrestrial its been created by squeezing it in to the existing SD multiplex of channels broadcast to Scotland, and by using the space once used by BBC Three HD. On satellite it replaces BBC Two Scotland which no longer exists.

I wonder if BBC Scotland and BBC 2 on PSB 1 will be delayed relative to each other when simulating, to ease stat mux issues ?

Would that be a problem? After all it regularly has identical content on BBC One/Two and BBC News.

Though the extra hop to Glasgow and back might add a bit of delay anyway

Well, as it's an extra service shoehorned in to PSB 1, it might be helpful to add a delay. (Yes, I acknowledge overnight/mornings there's the simulcasting between 1 and News)
Aren't the BBC 1 regions on D-Sat all delayed slightly relative to each other to ease the stat muxing ?

I guess having three services with identical content (Two, Scotland and News) is a different story to just two?

Yes - the BBC One HD variants on DSat are delayed relative to each other a bit to improve statmux efficiency.
