With regards to schools programmes, the hey day for schools programming was the 1960s and 1970s, as all programming for schools and adult education was exempt from the broadcasting hours restrictions imposed by the then Postmaster General until autumn of 1972.
Once broadcasting hours restrictions were lifted by November 1972, schools programming would slowly decrease. BBC loved schools programming to fill their schedules cheaply, whereas ITV provided schools programmes under regulation commitments, until they could dump them on Channel 4 in 1987.
Schools programming were really the only daytime programming on the BBC and ITV for the majority of the 60s and into the 70s. Apparently there were some interesting programmes to watch.
I think younger people do not realise, know or care that before 1972, BBC and ITV were limited to just 8 hours a day of normal programming. It used to be 5 hours a day, then rose to 7 in 1955, and then to 8 by 1970. So schools, adult education were great fillers for BBC One and ITV schedules.
Won't it be tedious for those on Sky to have to find network BBC Two in the 960's of the channel guide?
It'll be on 102 won't it?
BBC Two HD will be on 102 in Scotland.
Presumably 'BBC Two Eng' will be on 802 and will be renamed rather than have two separate channels showing the same content.

No, BBC 2 SD ‘England’ or Network, will be on Ch 2 in Scoctland, taking the place of BBC 2 SD Scotland that will cease as a channel

They're talking about Sky, not Freeview. I suspect Sky will turn on HD swapping and place BBC Two HD on 102, as is the case in England. They only let you opt out of HD swapping if the SD service has different regional content to the HD service, which won't be the case once Network is placed on 102.
Apologies if this has already been answered but will it be available on Sky in England?
I love Scotland and would appreciate the opportunity of seeing some of the shows.
I'm not sure if they've confirmed if it would be available on the EPG outside Scotland, but given that BBC Alba and all the regional/nation variants of BBC One and Two are available on the EPG nationwide I'd be very surprised if it isn't.
Even if don't put it on the EPG outside Scotland you can very easily add it to the 'Other Channels' list via manual tuning.

I thought it was Freeview being talked about, is Ch 802 in the 'scratchpad' portion of Sky's EPG ?
