Switched onto BBC One Scotland during Haunted Hogmanay to find a breakdown slide up. We are Sorry for the break in programme and are trying to correct the fault. The music that they had playing was the jingle from the new symbols NOT the xmas version the normal set.

Didn't realy hear the announcer until the end saying i'm now happy to say we can return to Haunted Hogmanay she also said sorry again over the end credits.

Also i noticed that BBC One Scotland broadcast BBC News 24 at 5PM i think the other regions and London are having the BBC News at 6.05pm.I have never seen this before and was surprised to see Peter Sissons they opted out for RPS .

As usual at this time of year BBC Scotland goes its own way for a large proportion ot the night, leaving the network at around 10.30pm for seasonal specials of Only An Excuse (football comedy) and Still Game (now a network success, to be shown throughout the UK tomorrow). Then there's the usual highly twee but traditional Hogmanay Live at about quarter to 12, while the rest of the UK 'enjoys' Natasha Kaplinsky. Most of it is studio-based so any cancellation of the Edinburgh festivities will not cause too much of a problem.

Best to get that glitch out their system now I suppose rather than lose the bells... Rolling Eyes

This year, BBC1 Scotland's opted out for pretty much the entire day from 11am onward, outside of a 8-10:30pm window for Casualty & Graham Norton. 'Allo Allo and Eastenders got moved about (both an hour early) and everything else from the English schedule got dumped completely.

Slightly OTbut I enjoyed the programme pronmotion slides for Hogmanay on BBC Scotland - instead of the circle, there was a sort of slow motion catherine wheel effect spiralling outward - a neat way of showing circles again.

The ident I saw was the usual snow ball being pushed around with no changes.

I was surprised it wasn't used throughout the network - it was quite neat.
