BBC Scotland is have some trouble again, at 22.40 its run early. It played out the full neon ident in full with NO CA, then it stopped and CA started speaking, then went to black then joined the Radio 4 promo half way and then we got the network ideat and CA.

The first 'full' is redundant and misleading, as it made me think that BBC ONE Scotland used the original '07 Neon ident in
Frank Skinner Live
rather than the '09 edit, which would have been nice, mind you.
NI and Wales, using Bikes Long and Neon respectively, entered the next programme without any issues.

Well it wasn't redundant and misleading, you were just being pedantic as that's a perfectly valid way of saying the full length of the ident was played out - If you choose to misinterpret it that's not barcode's fault! I could say the same thing about you saying Northern Ireland used 'Bikes Long' - because it was the long version it made me think that BBC One Northern Ireland used the original '07 Bikes ident in

623058 used two 'fulls' - "
It played out the full neon ident in full
" - implying that the full, original Neon ident was played out in full (without the CA).

That is not a fair comparison, considering that there are two variants of the Bikes ident currently being used, one short and one long. If I was referring to the original
'06
Bikes ident, I would have said "the original Bikes ident".

oh dear, Maybe we should have an unwritten rules where, where Full means full length of 2009 ident. unless make very clear that a 2006 ident is used. and sorry for causing any trouble,
BBC Scotland could start by scrapping River City ...
Ah, River City. That programme seems to be a good example of token Scottishness to tick boxes. Is it any good? If not, as your post insinuates, then perhaps they should kick it to the kerb. However, if it is actually decent and there'd be riots in Dundee if it were to be removed, why is it not shown in the rest of the country? What cultural differences are there that means a typical person in Dunblane or Elign would relate to and enjoy such a programme whilst similar people in Carlisle or Port Talbot would find it foreign and confusing? Emmerdale's not only shown in Yorkshire. Eastenders is not only shown in London.
It's seems like if the programme was actually UK-wide, it would become perceived as less 'Scottish' and fail to tick as many diversity boxes, even though it would still be set in Scotland and made there. Thus, it's either crap and a waste of money, or it's good and a waste of a programme for the rest of the country which misses out.

I do know people who watch River city, and it does perform will. There was talk years ago England was going to take River city but it was not to be. Its good but it does has scottishness in it...
So did Taggart but we all coped. As unfashionable as it may be to say this: Scotlands not all that different from the rest of the country. Besides, if the 'Scottishness is that bad, the Network CA can always put out a trigger warning before it starts.

I like the last series it did compared to the itv control crap. I think it makes it more real, which river city does benefit from.

I don't see why it shouldn't be, and in these days of cost squeezing it's an hour a week (?) of quality content for network to out out at little cost.
A lot of the nations content is the same, just use it to fill the time network can't afford to fill
