I wonder if anyone can explain a bit better how BBC Scotland CA department is actually operated. The reason for asking is, it looks like Glasgow has some independence from London while at other times London has full control over it.

You can see this when Glasgow going into network programme, it uses the same script and ident, while of course with local programmes Glasgow gets to do thier own scripts and use what ident it believe would be most ideal.

Between the programmes Glasgow uses is own promos, I have seen few junctions where nothing is the same as the network, while also deciding if it wants to use Sport Menu or programme menu.

The thing I’ve notice is the stings seem to be a bit more divided, on a few occasions Glasgow are just not using certain stings while everyone else uses them, or even not using them at all. Ie the latest example was the Hoover, it wasn’t until the following day and then only used once. That just like the Rubber dingy one from July used just the once (I wish I never know that!) Yet the ice Skater keeps on appear, even if it very good.

Last year English national day sting was never used up here, Scotland did use Scottish sting on 30th November unlike everyone else.
I believe Glasgow like wales were give the other BBC 2 “2” idents but have never got around to using them mainly because lets be fair Scotland doesn’t provide full CA on BBC 2.

There are around 10 members of staff who are also director, do there have any say or are the just busy to deal with stuff fluff.
Especial since we haven’t even gotten into asking how some of tech errors have been happening of late, the last; just two weeks ago with the junction just froze up.

I was briefly confused a few days ago when watching BBC One HD and saw the London news during Breakfast. Naturally I thought it should have been the holding animation, only for Scotland news to cut in after 30secs. Then I realised I'd got the Sky box on BBC One Scotland HD. Sad I know.

That happened to me once with BBC 2 Scotland and HD BBC2.

I was having a think about this topic over my dinner, ( it beat thinking about the world events) One of the reason I think which may answer some of the above questions is Glasgow has better things to do with its time. I'm lead to believe Glasgow CA is also the director, I believe the same people also have to make up the duty logs for the promos. Right now Glasgow has alot of promos it needs to push out including local shows plus celtic connections, and every second it needed for the higher up promotions.

On top of that its also very possible Network are not given Glasgow enough notice about any stings. I bet some of the staff are like, Nay chance, i'm changing the logs now just to suit to Pearson down in London.

And when things are going wrong, which there have been off and no for a while now, I bet there would rather get to the bottom of the server issues?

You do talk some absolute sh*t sometimes, don't you?
London Lite, Blake Connolly and Larry the Loafer gave kudos

How so? if you spent most of the day doing promo logs loading them into the sever and having every pre-set, ready to go and then you find out how you need to start using this different sting which could be off by one second your would be pretty mift.

This is just poor:

The 23.05 jct was an opt out so it could broadcast QI, ( the 22.00 slot was filled with local programme,) just to note SCOTLAND are not repeating the china programme tonight or tomorrow.

Glasgow played out the China ident, ( fair enough, there did it for mastermind) and then started talking about the story of china, and how it continues on Thursday and how you can catch up with it at five past eleven.....

there just read the 10pm network script....

It doesn't come as a surprise to me. We've said it before, but BBC Scotland are always messing up continuity - showing seconds of network output before cutting away. They still routinely get the opt out for the regional imbed into the BBC News wrong with the drumbeat out of sync / rhythm with the national news. And anytime you complain about their blatant disregard for the viewer when scheduling you get the the standard reply about having to show so many hours of their programmes. How Scotland 2016 has survived when I don't know one person who has any high regard for it ( on any side of the political spectrum ), is a mystery.

Since I been looking for stings I've notice the mistake, including one bad junction a couple of Tuesday ago where everything froze up. Another jct where the menu never appeared the CA spoke but the promo had already started.

I agree Scotland 2016 is dire.
