It wasn't uncommon to see old School repeats on BBC2 in the mid 2000's, I recall there was an English programme that had an episode concentrated on TV Soaps, amongst the family favourites were Brookside and Eldorado...

Hm I was under the impression that after 2000 the bulk of the output was the Look and Read repeats though I've checked since and they were mostly on the CBBC channel.

Here it is in it's full glory (repeat from 2001, but was still being repeated until 2004). http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/5e9af23e0ff64dfdad1be06e1ec2c2b1

Schools programmes ended on BBC2 at the end of Spring Term 2010. Channel 4 were a year or two earlier.

Hmmm this rings a distant bell with me from a 1990s "wheeling a VHS into the classroom" excitement.... I'll have a rummage through the back of my head (near the fleas).

Did you happen to hear the teacher say "It's on B1 Today"?

The excellent broadcast for schools site could help but some shows listed have no images or clips, but it could be one of these?

HealthE could be it, that had a woman that shrunk down and went inside the human body.

I think it was, shame there's no footage.

I'm sure zig zag did something about the human body?

Alot of schools are not happy this service is now gone. Saying the replacement online service is dreadful and not on par with what the bbc of itv did.

I vaguely remember the programme the OP is talking about. It featured a character called "Blod" if I remember. The Genome website has records of HealthE being part of the "Daytime on Two" segment in 1993, 1996, and 1997 and one instance of an episode in The Learning Zone in 1999. Sadly there don't appear to be any instances of the programme available on YouTube etc.

Dear god, I remember watching that show at school too. Yes the woman who she went inside was called Blod, though I seem to remember some later episodes where she went inside a man too.

Talking of the lack of schools broadcasts these days, didn't CBBC repeat some programmes (such as Look and Read) in a "Class TV" strand in the noughties? How long did this last?

Yes they did and it lasted for 6 years from 2002 to 2008. More info on why it ended here:

The first day of Class TV was marred by a fairly spectacular breakdown that reduced CBeebies and CBBC to programmes at their billed times and 'continues shortly' slides in between (at least for the first few junctions until the channels could be moved to spare tx suites used previously for BBC Choice and Knowledge.

Anyway...
