Does anyone know the name of the program! (September 2017)

Does anyone remeber a BBC Schools programme about the human body? It's about a alien woman (I think?) going into a another woman's body and teaching about the human body. I think it was shown during the 90s but I remember watching it in primary schools in the 2000's.

Did you watch it live at transmission or was it recorded and you saw it from a tape? Are you sure it wasn't a Schools on 4 programme you'd seen?

The reason I ask is that by the mid 90s a lot of the BBC Schools stuff had been pretty much scrapped during the traditional daytime schedule and it was mostly moved overnight to the Learning Zone, whereas the schools on 4 IIRC still aired programmes in the morning after I think 9:30 and this carried on for quite a while I believe.

It was taped and it was shown on BBC Two because it had the Dog ident with the 1990 BBC logo before the program. Sorry, I forgot to mention it in the previous comment. Embarassed

Hmmm this rings a distant bell with me from a 1990s "wheeling a VHS into the classroom" excitement.... I'll have a rummage through the back of my head (near the fleas).

When you say the Dog ident, I presume you are referring to the BBC Two DOG in the top left corner, rather than an ident involving an animal? I'm not being pedantic (well no more so that should be expected from the likes of me), but if there was a Dog ident era that was different from the falling acorn growing into an oak tree BBC Learning Zone ident then I am not of the same era as you and therefore I can be of no assistance whatsoever. Understand? No, me neither.

I think he means this ident: BBC Two 'Fluffy Dog'

Sounds like Space Ark. They did a few episodes where they went into the human body IIRC.

Here's one episode about cars

No, it wasn't that one. There was no space station or spaceship in the program.

The excellent broadcast for schools site could help but some shows listed have no images or clips, but it could be one of these?

HealthE could be it, that had a woman that shrunk down and went inside the human body.

The reason I ask is that by the mid 90s a lot of the BBC Schools stuff had been pretty much scrapped during the traditional daytime schedule and it was mostly moved overnight to the Learning Zone

As mentioned, there was still a full schools schedule on BBC2 throughout the 90s, I'm amazed to see on that broadcast for schools site that there were still schools programmes on BBC2 4 days a week in 2004!

The Learning Zone wasn't a replacement for daytime schools, although some of its output was compilations and reedits of schools stuff for GCSE Bitesize. Most of the Learning Zone was OU content and there wasn't much if anything for primary school pupils
