What on earth is going on with Reporting Scotland? I know that they chose to use the sting for the 1830 bulletin, and keep the full opening titles for the 1330 one. However, today, they played the sting at lunchtime aswell. On top of that, its not even the proper sting! They are using the end sting (with no end beats) to introduce and end every bulletin of every day (AFAIK)!!

One thing I do like is the way they have started to use the plasma screen instead of a sidebar. Its very clever, they turn on the side most of the time, to show the plasma screen behind them. It starts off with a full sized image of the titles, with REPORTING SCOTLAND in the middle. It then fades to the Reporting Scotland at the bottom with the image which would be used on the sidebar in other regions, dominating the picture on the plasma screen! Very nice touch BBC Scotland!

Robert says it's all because at the 6.30pm programme, they now have an extra headline, and they need the 10 seconds! I must say it is pretty silly and annoying at the same time.

Thats as far as I know! Although it does make sense. After two presenters were used, they inserted another headline at the start of the programme, so there are 2 each, and they still have to keep the programme to exactly the same time, so they had to cut down somewhere, and the titles is the easiest place. Its a shame as the titles are amazing. I get annoyed when North West Tonight use the sting for the 2225 bulletin (which is always!!), as I would prefer the full opening titles a couple of times a week! (We only get the one chance each night to see them , at 1830)

Sorry - edited out a couple of spelling mistakes - I said the presenters 'ate' the headlines 2 each!!

As a BBC Scotland viewer, I noticed the new 'palsma-shot' (corny, but sounds so cool!) too, recently.

To be honest, my first thought was, 'They've got two plasma screens in that Studio; that must have been expensive!'.  I hadn't actually twigged that they'd changed the presentation style.

Personally, I love the back-projected Window on the World , with the crome metal bars across it like a safety-rail on a balconette.  Unfortunatley for us up north, they chose to base the BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow instead of Edinburgh (many, many years ago) and so we have to put up with this view:

when we could have this one:

Maybe its just as well that we don't see the view too much!
