Do all the BBC Regional Newsrooms have the backdrop of the city they are broadcasting from behind them ? (ie. Look North overlook the city of Leeds) We know they are TV screens and not windows, can anyone report any strange sightings on these screens ? I've caught the screens flickering before on Look North, and it was a little off putting when it was snowing.
Reporting Scotland has a backdrop of the city of Glasgow, but sadly I haven't noticed any strnge sightings.

I agree with the snow! It was very annoying!
They have a delay on the screen, like the backdrop on BBC National News screen, or as Huw Edwards put it 'We wouldn't want anyone committing sucide, would we?' BUT having said that, I saw a bird coming towards the window / camera. (very spooky)

Is the newsroom we can see behind the presenters on the ITV News programmes real, or just a clever paint job by the ITN Art dept.?
Well if it is real there's never any activity going on, it's just static. At the start when the camera is looking down at the desk from above, you can see people walking about above the studio.

I've seen a bird come right up to the camera and (I think) hit it, because the camera shook.
What are the backdrops to the BBC Newsrooms in Wales and the South of England ?
Well they are all the Generic style and so will have the creamy background and a central window, with a view from the studios in which the programme is made.
The BBC Scotland News studio in Glasgow is used for just the 6.30 news and Newsnight Scotland where the view of Glasgow is replaced. Do other regions use their news studio for every bulletin? s. BBC Scotland have stopped this and now they read most short bulletins icluding those on Breakfast from a desk in the news centre. I think they should use the studio more often especially when on Breakfast . Does anyone know why they dont it seems such a waste.
Yeah Martin, I agree with you whole heartedly, unfortunatly they do use the news desk increasingly, when they've got that lovely studio just sitting there empty.

On the subject of strange sightings on Reporting Scotland one evening Fiona Henderson`s Mobile went off as she said goodnight , she then apologised for the interuption and laughed.
