Don't forget there are 4 versions of the regional 'thunderclaps' and themes ... one for the English regions, one for Wales, one for Scotland and one for Northern Ireland.

OK what about this, on the National News at 1pm and 6pm and 10pm, at the start there are about 5 headlines sandwiched by the thunder-claps, then it cuts to the regional headlines...
The regional teams have space for TWO headlines, but does anyone get the thunderclaps then? It sounds disjointed to have the 6 thunderclaps segregating the 5 second BBC national headlines, but then I (in the South) get 10 seconds of South Today headlines with no claps.
Midlands Today use the normal thunderclaps between each of their headlines BUT because they do it live and don't use the standard 5 second thunderclaps, they never get it on beat and sounds very unprofessional.
Also, they are more than 4 thunderclap variations.
Newsroom South East, Look North and South Today all use different ones to the standard. (Although NRSE and LN's do sounds similar, except NRSE headlines have a beat, like the ones sometimes used on UK Today)

Look East have thunderclaps but as far as I know the vision mixer is linked to a MD player so when they cut to the pictures the clap is in time so it doesn't look that odd. Works ok I have to say. Some regions are better than others at getting it to look right.

During Newsroom South East, the Headline Bed they use, have a sort of string chord mixed with it, adding a nice bit of music to it.

Sadly Reporting Scotland don't use 'thunderclaps', but they really should.

Yes I noticed that but I think Reporting Scotland Doesnt really need them.
I like the Newsroom South East headline bed, its the same as the national version but has more added to it. Its a variation rather than the same as the national one, I don't know why all the regional programmes don't use the NRSE one.
