It started with the short opening titles, and then 'Good Evening, welcome to Look North, I'm Christa Ackroyd'
There were a couple of stories, the weather from Paul, obviously without any banter
Very professionally done, this has hammered home to me just how good a broadcaster Christa is, Paul too. It must be hard to do this sort of thing only a week and a half into a new job. I remember that the day after Yorkshire Television went to air, there was a huge fire at a hotel in Ilkley and four people died.

And Ian White on the late bulletin after the special Ten O'Clock News also very professional and sincere concentrating, as you would think, on the days events.

BBC Wales Today were also very good. After the 6, we had the usual 'I'm Sara Edwards and this is BBC Wales Today' followed by the titles but no headlines. The news on both the 6:30 and 10:45 bulletins concentrated on the days tragic event and lead on Rhodri Morgan (welsh MP) expressing his condolances on behalf of Wales. It also reported that the Archbishop of Wales was in a Church near the World Trade Centre (just over the road i think) at the time but was thankfully un-hurt.
Sara Edwards did very well. She is usually so cold and appears quite 'stuck up' compared to Jamie Owen but today handelled the bulletin both bravely and considerately - as did Newydion on S4C.
Digressing Slightly - HTV News were awful on their bulletin during the 6 - 7 ITN slot. Stories featured, considering the circumstances were too lighthearted focussing on things like how a small town wanted to apply for city status (in a humerous way) and other cat up a tree like stories that could have been held until another more suitable evening. The only mention that i saw of the days events on this bulletin was Lucy Cohen giving the helpline Number at the end. Surely they could have had someone live at Cardiff Airport/National Assembly etc describing the security measures in place and the problems with flights/events at the Airport.
Yes, Martin Henfield was very professional last night on the North West Tonight bulletin after the Ten o'clock news. With the bulletin beinng longer than the main programme after the six, it strayed slightly on to other news towards the end.
The NWT bulletin after the six was very proffesional, as usual, with Gordon Burns. He just said 'Good Evening' at the start, followed by all the USA related news, with no weather, he just summarised the days events, and said 'We go back now for the latest from London', which was followed immediately by Gavin Esler and Jane Hill.
