In the East, there was no balloon, no titles, just a direct link to Susie live at the largest American community (airbase) in the UK. It was very well done. Just contained reaction from community members and the defense correspondent described what might be happened inside the base. Then, she said 'Now back to London' and it just went the the news 24 studio. I was quite impressed.

Newsroom South East and South Today ran titles and then straight to the newsreader. NSE reported of panic in The City of London and the financial districts that it could happen in places such as Canary Wharf. From what I could see ST was reporting about Sites of Specific Scientific Interest - completely unrelated.

Newsroom South East had Jules Boetfield handing back to 'Live coverage from BBC News 24'

in midlands today they were talking about the crash in lockabie (i cant spell it) for about 5 minutes.
Jackie Bird presenter Reporting Scotland, where again there were no idents or music etc. We had a small report on the American story, and then a couple of minutes with other Scottish stories.
After the end of the 6 here in the Midlands, the normal (long) opening titles to Midlands Today played and Nick Owen did the local news. Nick just basically said thats it for now but with no link into News 24, just came on and Jane and Gavin welcomed viewers.
