Doesn't really make sense why it would vanish of Freesat as presumably it was on BBC leased space.

It is likely that there are issues surrounding the data being sent alongside the Red Button HD service. Simply put, there needs to be two different sets of data on the same satellite transponder, enabling both Sky and Freesat receivers to access the channels via their respective Electronic Programme Guides (EPG), with Freesat data needing to pass through an adaptation hub, operated by Sky. This is because both platforms use different systems and technologies. Although Freesat operates as an independent platform, the adaptation hub stage can affect how services are launched on both Freesat and Sky. Often, new services appear on the Sky channel list first.

There's now an update on this story. As it stands, BBC Red Button HD will NOT appear on Sky and the Red Button streams will only be available via the red button. Viewers on all other platforms will be able to access and record the Red Button streams via relevant channel numbers.

The BBC has reached an agreement with Sky to clear the Red Button HD stream through the Sky adaptation hub to allow Freesat viewers to access the channel again from "early next week" on channel 980.

The BBC blog still shows the Sky channel numbers, which I suppose may be used if a deal with Sky is ever reached. In the meantime, an updated table is on my website, click and scroll down: http://www.a516digital.com/2013/06/bbc-reaches-agreement-with-sky-to-allow.html

So RB HD next weekend evenings more or less becomes a BBC THREE Glastonbury simulcast. I have a feeling that the BBC are praying for no rain at Wimbledon and no evening sessions, BBC ONE and TWO will get very messy if evening play is required.

I'm not sure, Andy Murray in the evening is a big drive for ratings.

Andy is unlikely to play on Saturday. If he plays late on Friday its pretty much guaranteed BBC1

I guess this is the BBC Trust at play in being stupidly restricitve about such things but seemed a waste this afternoon to just have the promo loop on BBC RB HD while the SD channel was airing T in the Park coverage. It seems other than for sport they'll only show content airing on BBC3.

Is the Red Button HD on Freeview playing silly beggars? Apparently its meant to be showing The Killers live from TITP, but there is nothing at all...
