I realy cant unerstand why the Bowman woman is staying, I dont know one person who likes her! She ticks 2 boxes I supose being female and Scottish. JK and Joel going is unexpected they will either end up and an Emap Big City station or Capital 95.8, I doubt they will split. Cant Imagine Osbourne being any good!
Having heard Dick and Dom covering Fridays early breakfast they wernt to bad.
Nihal's O.K ive never warmed to him (but I dont tend to listen to BBC Radio 1 at weekend so dont bother me).
Moyles moving to 6.30, well the first half an hour will be took up by The Brand New Cheesy Song, I think breakfast shows should start about this time or earlyer realy.

Does that mean that JK and Joel are going back to their roots at Piccadilly Key 103!!! (for the uninformed its Manchester's No.1 radio station!) - I still prefer 105.4 Century FM - thits of 80's 90's and Now

He's not, that's the problem. For him. I find it quite amusing when he is late, listening to the rest of the team try to fill in.

The dudes my soulmate! Well he would be if broadcast daily sometime 'tween 10am and 8pm.

Something tells me the first half an hour of The Chris Moyles Show will almost always be pre recorded when these changes come into effect. He struggles to make it in for 7.00 as it is (although he has been on time a lot more lately). The opening theme tune to his show is just irritating now though, its far too long and just gets on me nerves. Moving all the Dance Genres to Friday & R&B etc to Saturdays is a very good move. It always seems like a mish mash at the moment. Dick & Dom were entertaining enough on Early Breakfast earlier this year so could be a good listen. Greg James has done well for himself (he is much better to listen to than JK & Joel). I do think the weekday schedule could do with a bit of a shake up though. Edith & Jo are both good to listen to but something is missing during the daytime.

Last song on JK and Joel this morning was that Maroon 5 song that goes "Don't come around here any more". Did the playlist monkey know something? Rolling Eyes

I think JK & Joel have had there cards marked for a little while. Moving from Weekend afternoons to Early Breakfast was hardly a promotion in the right direction. They can be ok sometimes but other times it can be a right turn off. I seem to recall Nemone went in a very similar way, got moved out of weekends to Early's and then chopped.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes:

* More Chris Moyles - this is always a good thing. Means I'll never hear the cheesy song though, which I still enjoy (strangely it reminds me of the ITV start-ups - it's obviously not the same style though...)
* JK and Joel - as has been mentioned by a lot of people, they're good, but they always sounded more commercial radio. Safe pair of hands though.
* Nihal - fatally wounded by a disastrous stint standing in on breakfast at Christmas, he's probably a personable enough DJ. You can't help but think the BBC are just desperate to give him a prime slot though, and are throwing him at everything. BBC example of promoting someone too fast number 1.
* Greg James - BBC example of promoting someone too fast number 2. Moyles had a point when he jokingly had a go at the fact Greg was standing in on bank holiday breakfast - it's way too early. I switched off and went to commercial radio that day (it wasn't a bank holiday in Scotland). Harsh to judge him this early, but if Radio 1 are going to put him on such an important show, then he'll have to up his game. Suspect the 6.30am shift is partially to do with this - as Moyles has said before, the numbers just shoot up between 6.30am and 7am, and they can't afford to lose them.
* Dance Anthems - odd. Either a) they're trying to ditch it quietly, or b) they're going for a target audience who used to go out at the weekends, but now stay home for whatever reason. Probably a) to be honest. Shame that, it did round off the weekend quite well.
* Kelly Osbourne - oh Christ.
* Dick and Dom/Vernon - Haven't heard the former, won't judge. It did strike me their style was very similar to JK and Joel though. Vernon probably didn't want to do Sundays any more.
* Fearne and Reggie - Official Chart Show RIP.

Yes! Moyles. He'd be perfect filling in Jo or ediths slot. I could well live without whiney ( cherry bloSsoM poisoning) jO Whiley.

My R1 Dream team.
Moyles 10 -1
Mills 1 - 4
Bowman 4-7

When they used to do the Breakfast show on Key 103 they were superb but on the same level they had alot of freedom with the show I suppose, I cannot say entirely for their Radio 1 show's as I've never really felt like listening to them. From Key 103 to Radio 1 was a good promotion for them, but it doesn't feel the same.

Me hopes they come back to Key 103, but I'm sure something good from a London ILR would probably come up?

Not sure about that. Most of the unscripted random banter is good but some of the features are weak (Who know's Dom?) and go on far too long. With an extra half hour the unscripted banter will naturally move to 6.30am meaning new features will be needed in the 7-8am hour, currently there is only Birthday Corner in this whole hour

Greg James looks to be the next big thing. Good they've kept Coxy unchanged. They should have got rid of Edith

Moyles hinted on Wednesday that Who Knows Dom wasn't going to last very much longer.

Surely their roots are at Viking FM in Hull (home of Levy Live), where the partnership was formed before Key 103 pinched them.

But whilst they were at Key 103 they got the awards and were spotted by BB Radio chiefs.

Just like so many other Piccadilly Radio DJ's in the past......

Steve Penk - Capital
Timmy Mallet - TVam
Tim Grundy - a lot of Discovery shows!!!!!
Andy Crane - CBBC and now Channel M - TV for Manchester
Noddy Holder
James Whale (aired on Key103 but also aired across most of commercial radio - coming from Radio Aire (leeds) as a simulcast of his Friday Night TV show - but also for a period his show was every night on Key103!!!!!!
Scott Mills
plus many more who went to major radio stations in London, on to TV
