Does anyone know what this kind of promotional graphic is called and what it’s for?

There was one shown after Inside No 9 last night that almost reached the bezel on my telly, no padding at all. Film-style posters, they’re almost like.

You certainly don’t see them used on-air very often and the text was waaaay too small.

These kind of things are called Not Suitable For Broadcast.

They're for massaging egos.

AFAIK they are called TX (transmission) cards which used to be mailed out for promo purposes for magazines, newspapers and thats the modern online equivalent.

The fantastic Inside No 9 ones are similar but as you say are more of a film poster homage

Yeah, I'd buy them in poster format I think. Very nicely done.

Thanks, everyone.

Yep - those are sent out by the production teams of shows to flag up that they are about to TX. Particularly useful for contributors who may have been filmed months previously and would like to know when their appearance will be.
