Good God - this looks truly awful - reminds me of the sort of stuff I used to make on my BBC Computer in the 80s.

I never particularly liked their fireworks look - it always looked rather Christmassy to me. I think their Pearl Ident was the best - simple but effective (though the original shining Crystal thing was ok).

Having seen it on screen, the design isn't as bad as it looks in the caps. It is boring though. Not much creativity and the colours...well...it's hardly worth saying.

the yellow ball moves down like pacman, disappears and appears again a bit more left and moves up.

It's a person mowing the lawn.... note the sound effects and the colours!

For MHPers, there's a video over there.

Another one sees a yellow rectangle "fish" swimming around a circle "bowl".

Does nothing for me but then, I was quite a fan of the fireworks so it's probably just a bit too plain.

Just seen the video, they look truly awful, especially the fish tank one. I can see what they are trying to do but it looks like a BBC Micro has been dug out to make these.

... and the 8:00 train to the U.A.E. will be departing in five minutes...!

Railway station's time-table screen or is it just me?

Seen the video (I've uploaded it here: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=8A5526E76C17C45D )

It isn't bad, but not prefect. I can see what sparky means about there in no Continuity Announcer over the idents.

If this is the kind of presentation the BBC is now coming out with, it makes you really hopeful for the new look BBC One doesn't it? Pale

I don't think it's any exaggeration to say that if that was posted in the mocks forum it would lead to an instant ban.

...and lots of comments about how you shouldn't use Paint.

It makes more sense when seen in motion, but I have to agree that if stills of this were posted in the Mock Designs forum, the creator would get absolutely ridiculed.

I think it's a bit too crude and flat. In agreement with an earlier post, I think the pearl / reflection ident was BBC PRIME's best ident. The fireworks idents that have now passed weren't too bad IMO.
