I was watching the intro to Teletubbies in French (don't ask) and I noticed this ident before it:



It is a thing called "BBC Playtime" and I don't know what it was. Was it something the BBC did with pre-school programmes internationally in the late 90s? I don't know.

There was another version which changes the title "Playtime" to "Playchildren". Here is that variant before the Italian opening to Teletubbies:

I suspect you're right, it sounds either a strand used by the French station or brand used by the BBC internationally.

A bit like in the US where BBC programmes were branded 'BBC Lionheart' for years or the drama which was called 'Masterpiece'

Strange that they didn't use the yellow and black CBBC idents for that.
