TV Forum is now all about Daybreak and how awful the ITV branding is. Decided to throw a new (well, not so new, but to the forum it is) channel into the ring - BBC Persian.

I had the privilege to go to Bush House and to Egton Wing of Broadcasting House last year, and got to have a look at how it all works. It was indeed, very cool. I visited the NOC at Bush and seen how the channels were played out, along with BBC Arabic, and dozens of international radio stations - I looked around where the servers were. 2 huge rooms full with a bit of kit to control all types of things... the music played during the breakdown and whatnot. I also had some time in 'dispatch' where international feeds come in, and are fed to the relevant studios as a link through ISDN.

Then at Broadcasting House, I went to the BBC Arabic and BBC Persian section and had a look around the studios, and a walk around to an area where a programme called 'Shoma' is filmed. It was a great day and I learned a lot from it!

Anyway, the branding, recently the new countdown and idents went live on BBC Persian for Persian New Year. For those who don't know, Persian New Year is about rebirth, flowers, fruit and goldfish. (for more info, look for Nowruz)

The countdown can be caught at xx:30 on bbc.co.uk/persian, http://up.metropol247.co.uk/030293/audio_41.mp3 and http://www.bbc.co.uk/persian/tv/2011/04/000001_ptv_live_streaming_map.shtml

If anyone gets the chance to watch the countdown or general BBC Persian. Post your opinions on it's branding Smile

Well, it's something different
