Not sure if anyone has noticed...

The straps and graphix for BBC Parliament are now in the corporate purple, and the straps are transparent like the news 24 straps.

I've noticed that the astons are never dissolved in and out - they always appear and disappear in cut mode - is this because Parliament is using some form of primitive equipment, or is it just laziness on behalf of the beeb?

BBC Parliament is using an Automated system, and isnt supervised by a major team i believe.

I believe the astons used to change colour according to the coverage, didn't they?

Green = House of Commons
Red = House of Lords
Purple = Scottish Parliament?

Do I recall seeing light blue and yellow versions? I can't remember to be honest - don't watch BBC PARLIAMENT that much. I do remember the astons being solid block colour as opposed to transparent as they are now.

I think you've gotton a little muddled there!! The astons in the pics are purple and thats in the House of Commons, so it must be purple for the House of Commons.

It always used to be green for Commons - they must have changed them recently.

They do have blue ones for Conservative events, and red/yellow ones for labour/lib dem events.
During the election they were gold and red, with the Vote 2001 'V' appearing occasionally.

Yes, what I was saying is that they used to be green in the House of Commons, red in the Lords and other different colours depending on where the coverage was from (Welsh Assembly, Scottish Parliament, London etc etc).

They are now purple because, as mentioned, Parliament have taken the corporate approach to things.

I am well aware of the House of Commons colour schemes, thank you Rob!! Wink
