According to The Good Website Guide 2001 (a book I have), there are over 300 pages on BBC Online. Are they re-designing all the sites around BBC Online?

What will happen to the Beeb website I wonder? Confused

300?

Is that all?

There's more than 300 pages! And thats without including BBC News Online or is that BBCi News ?

I guess a lot of their content is something like SSI (getting bits and pieces from other files, making it easier to edit one 'template' for it to affect much of the site at once.)

Cheers, Asa

Here is a leak ...

* New BBCi bar on EVERY page. It's got links to catagories, where I live, and searches

* New homepage. Like Nicky said, it's a bit grey, look resembles a properly designed Yahoo.

* New catagory pages, which follow the design of the new homepage.

* Lots of other cool stuff coming up.

It's VERY impressive.

Also, I understand the BBCi bar on DSat will change to include the new logo, which is essentially a BBC logo with an i after it.

300 is not that many when you think about it. I'd say there are about 850 pages (e.g EastEnders, History section, CBBC, Weather).

Oh, I dunno! So irritating to count them! Smile

There's more than that!

The site I work on has over 3,500 pages in the two years it has been in operation!

BBCi / Online must be running on near 500,000 in total I would imagine.

All I'm going to say is 'grey'!
BBCi - the UK's number one digital destination!

Oh, dear: Windows 9x look-alike here we come!
Couldn't the Beeb opt for a nice shade of beige at least!?
Tug some sholders please Nicky!!

Wait until you see it, apart from the colour scheme, trust me, you'll like it

BBC News Online has over 2 million pages so I'd say that 300 may be a wee bit out.

BBCi? How lame. Could've at least thought of something original and not a direct copy of their US counterparts. Sounds tacky to be quite honest, anyway BBC Online is in need of a facelift, it looks crap at the moment.

Just a matter of time before News 24 is rebranded N24.

Very silly, and the BBC should learn that the 'future' isn't making brand names as short as possible.
