I have files of a BBC ONE Weekend News bulletin from 1994 with Peter Sissons. I also have the clock and spinning globe ident. I will send these along with screengrabs to Asa for TV Home, if enough people would like them. (I have done them in the highest possible qulaity!)
Yes, I will. I have the clock, BBC ONE ident, BBC News ident and closing titles. I have done them with Peter Sissons talking and then some where he isn't, if you know what I mean!
I was just thinking as I played the clips which I encoded from a friend's video today, that how much I loved the BBC News music before 1999. It really was good. The clips I have are from the 9.30pm Sunday news, so use the nine o'clock news titles. I love them!! I also have screengrabds of the studio, astons etc, and the weather after the news from 1994/5

What was the BBC News Summary music like in 1994 - was it the traditional 'horn' sound:
der der der der derrrrrrrrrrrrrr der der der derrrrrrrrrrr
I don't know. The 1988 one was the start of the One O'Clock News, so maybe the 1994 one was the start to the One O'Clock News too? I can't remember!!

The 1993 versions of the 1/6/9 and Breakfast News themes were all based on their predecessors (the 1 and 6 very loosely!), but the daytime version was all-new.
The daytime/weekend titles for BBC News 1993-1999 had almost the same music as the nine o'clock news, but had the six o'clock news title graphics. I found it here. (Courtesy of The TV Room).

Well, I hope to be adding to those pages over the next week or so...with fresh images and some extra video clips...hopefully answering your question on what the daytime theme sounded like...
