What specifically annoys me about that junction, albeit only in regions with analogue desks, is the constant swapping between network and local which causes the sides of my widescreen picture to keep jumping in and out.

Local News.
Network News Reprise.
Local Trail.
Network Weather.

Until all the regions go to digital desks, why don't they move the local trail to 18:30, immediately BEFORE the local news and, therefore, remove TWO picture size jumps?

This whole situation is made all the more annoying by the jumps either side of the local headlines at 18:01 and 18:15, for which I can see no sensible solution until full digitalisation.

Regarding the 6.55 junction, which I caught for the first time in a long time the other day, there was a trailer for something on BBC4 between the news recap and the weather. Thinking, 'didn't there used to a regional trailer at this point', I switched from digital terrestrial to analogue, and there was indeed a trailer for 'Inside Out'. I thought we were now back at the situation where there was no need for BBC London to opt out of network at all (on a regular basis anyway), so why are they still apparently doing so, and why aren't they bothering to do so on digital? Is this the same in other regions?

And similarly, as I was getting bored during another excessively long trailer break at 10.35 last night, I started flipping between analogue and digital BBC1 and was surprised to see completely different sets of trailers. Strangely it was the analogue version that was showing trailers for BBC3 and BBC4 and not digital. What could be the thinking behind going back to splitting analogue and digital??

The digital channel promotions on analogue have be placed there mainly as a window on the programmes on offer. This is to try and encourage more people to upgrade to digital (preferably Freeview).

I'm glad that some other people are irritated by this junction.

I noticed that, it seems a daft thing to do to extend these already-too-long junctions.
