Is it true that acrobats (the one with the woman falling from the ceiling)was/has been dropped because the main girl in it died?

This was mentioned a few months back... i believe it got temporarily withdrawn due to a friend of one of the acrobats dying... the ident is still in use on regional bulletins

Some months ago, an acrobat died performing an act not too distant from the one featured in the ident. As such, it was decided a few days later that the ident would be temporarily withdrawn in respect. It was speculated - then found to be wrong - that the acrobat who died was actually in the ident. It was then suggested that the acrobat who died was a friend of one of the ident performers. Whether this is true, who knows, but the ident was certainly withdrawn following the incident.

Nice bit of dry humour with a nod to people like Luxton

"Vintage BBC ONE

Relive the exciting days of the BBC ONE clock on the I Love TV website"

Almost too exciting.

The BBC1 logo is missing from a few of those idents, which is odd.

OK, who's going to be the first manage to get actual saveable copies of the high quality versions? Laughing

Although if you read directly above that where you see the box entitled video clips, you might see that they have difficulty in spelling the word "watch" Smile

Hmm...Streambox doesn't seem to like downloading this bunch sadly. Nice announcement by Dean last night by the way "from BBC Television Centre in London".

Last night was great for BBC pres, what with that announcement and they Ceefax surprise.

What's Streambox? Can you nick stream-only video with it? I've found it on Kazaa and am downloading "Streambox Suite" as "Streambox Ripper" was just a CD ripper or summat. I did have another programme for ripping video streams but it didn't work too well.

Streambox VCR is what you want, works with all BBC Online streaming content that I have come across. Google most likely has it

edit - which of course does not work with the BBC latest offering's. I'm about to try a proggy called "Stream Down" to see if that is any better

edit 2 - and it works lovely, travel over to tucows.com and get it
