Ya know how there's going to be BBC Three and Four to go along with BBC One and Two?

Someone said on an earlier thread that BBC Four would be focused on the same audience who listen to BBC Radio 4.

So I came to this question: Would there ever be a possibility that BBC News 24 would be renamed BBC Five -> to attract the same audience as Radio 5 Live?

Just a question...

But all the others wouldn't fit - BBC 1/Radio 1?

A BBC3 like Radio 3 would be very good, but it wouldn't happen with today's BBC. Remember that this is a corporation that seems to believe that Ian Wright is a TV presenter.

Hmm, that would be ITV too, then, since he presented a chat show type programme for them.

Unlikely, since I think they're very keen at the moment about promoting 'BBC NEWS' as a brand, eg BBC News at Ten O'Clock, BBC News Online, BBC News 24 etc.  Also, since Radio 5 Live is often referred to as simply 5 Live, there would be greater chance of confusion.
