I'm starting to get bored of the BBC1 idents already as it always seems to be Kites and Moon whenever I turn over. The other thing that annoys me is that the announcers start talking long before the logo shows on the screen
And don't get me started on that Surfing one with the shot changes in it. On several occasions now I've seen a junction where a vision cut in the ident happens during a mix between ident and programme. It looks appalling!

Is anyone fed up of being told to press the red button yet? Every programe seems to want us to go interactive these days!!
Fortunately the red button is also normally the Off button.

It's not necessarily that the idents are too long - Moon for example has an abridged version (as could the others, I don't watch enough TV to know!!) - it's that they're not given enough time in the schedule as to form properly. The cut in Surfers, as you say, should occur midway through the announcement as it seems the music was designed for the announcement to start just after the logo formation and the DOO, DEE, DUM bit.

well Not in scotland there seem to be only showning half of then... then into a programme
Has anyone noticed the annoying cut in the music on all of the idents. Usually in the first five seconds?
(sorry if this has been brought up elsewhere- i couldn't find anything though)
At first I thought it was the way the music was supposed to be. But it doen't fit. In any of them? Always a one second sound cut for no appararent reason.
They're not too long, they just need to go into them earlier instead of using pathetic little 10-second trails. Obviously if they were too long then the BBC would have sent them back to RedBee / Lambie Nairn (who ever did them) with a note saying "Too long mate."
