Whilst flicking through the channels I noticed that on BBC One Scotland the quality of the feed is really horrible for the rugby, I have seen this a few times in things coming from BBC Scotland. However I checked the other BBC One channels on Sky Digital and the feed is much much better. Why is the Scotland version so horrible?
Yes the picture quality of all the Six Nations rugby matches hasnt matched the quality of the Rugby World Cup 2003 - where the signal travelled half the way around the world! S4C didnt get great pictures mind!
I noticed this too- but with Telewest I went interactive and the feed (from BBC One England) was crystal clear- it also had the benefit of an english commentator with Scottish summariser (instead of the "scots only" BBC Scotland zone) and a better half-time analysis with Steve Ryder. If only Telewest would make BBC One and Two England available as an option to Scottish viewers- we would get the Simpsons five nights a week rather than non-sensical gaelic programming!
The BBC presentation from regions / nations doesn't match what ITV do at all - it's all looks basically like a mocked up version of the main graphics.
If ITV can supply all regions with the graphic packages neccessary for a generic look on news and sport, why can't the BBC do the same. For example, the BBC Wales graphics, although similar in style to BBC Sport, do not have the same quality finish at all.

I don't think this confidence in ITV should extend to UTV!!!
Agree with what you say about BBC graphics - the nations/regions are the same, but look different/lower quality, and sometimes a bit mix-and-match. Rather defeats the purpose of a generic look.
