BBC ONE on a Saturday Night: Best Schedule of all time?

Do you remember all them classic shows on a Saturday Night on BBC ONE?

Do you remember The Generation Game?
Or Noel's House Party?
Or Mr. Blobby who used to cross over the TV programmes all the time?

Genius! Just brilliant don't you think?? Laughing

Then the Lottery came on and then after that was the excellent Casualty.

Pure Excellence.

yes, i can remember enjoying Saturday Nights before they went downhill. The Generation Game & Casualty used to be really good. Look at Casualty now, its full of riff-raff who cant act. The National Lottery programmes are awful these days - and what happened to the generation game?

Mmh those classic shows. Any chance you can do a poll that goes further back than just staying in the nineties!

In the eighties, I was watching ITV with Childs Play (not sure if that was Sunday night viewing though) but there 3-2-1, Dempsey and Makepeace amongst others. I wonder what made the switch in viewing from people's mindset from 80's ITV into 90's BBC1.

Oh, you forgot Challenge Anneka. I loved that show!

Very Happy Very Happy
Has any one the BBC's latest Saturday Night Gameshow, 'Here comes the Sun'?
Hosted by Claire Sweeney, two families consisting of five people (no children) go head to head in the hope of winning a luxery Apartment in Spain where they can stay for two weeks a year for the rest of their lives.
They do challenges testing how well they can work together.
The final is a memory test where you look around the Apartment for 5 minutes, memorising it. You are then asked questions about what was where in the Apartment.. When they get a question right they can choose a key and if it opens the door they win!
PS However many games are lost by each family, that is how many people are lost to play in the Final
Do you like this Show?
What do you think of it?

Apparently, it's going to be Paul O'Grady's Generation Game pretty soon - he's filming a pilot edition in February! Very Happy

Yes, I used to watch Noel's House Party and The Generation Game (with Bruce of course!) religiously every week! Now, it isn't worth turning on the TV on Saturday nights - there's nothing remotely entertaining on anymore.

The only saturday Night programme that i think provides the same entertainment value is ant & dec's saturday night takeaway which is like the generation game, noel's house party & the lottery gameshow all in one!
