I have some caps here if anyone is interested. You may have problems accessing the site while I'm uploading, though.
BBC One now has a lovely set of idents! I still stand by what I said in the original thread, but it's a lot better than the dancers. I think I'd be quite happy for these to last longer than the dancers, and it would be good if they could get a little creative sometimes like C4 have, I reckon an ident-type trailer (like 4's Killers promo) would work quite well with the trailer endboards.
The idents are superb - though the announcers are just coming in when they feel like it, rather than when the logo forms.
Also, a bit of a side note but is it really neccessary now to have "Subtitles" on the idents - I think the other terrestrials at least have dropped this.
Moon at Noon is just wrong - but it's a nice enough ident. I'd have liked a generic ident for the news though.
As for the trailers - it's all nicely animated but it's as if they thought the "shutters" were so great the tried to incorporate them into the new trailers. The trailer endboards are just dull, boring and most of all empty - they've never got them right since the balloon floated away!
Anyhow, generally it's a massive improvement and my only real complaint is the end of the trailers.
A minor observation - I've not really paid that close attention in the past but I noticed on the midday bulletin the "BBC NEWS" logo had the "NEWS" aligned with the boxes, rather than the text in the boxes (if that makes sense). Is that new?
Not had a change to see BBC Wales yet - though the "Wales" bit doesn't look right at all. Does it animate on or just appear after the logo is formed?
The football ident is probably the weak link in the set - though it'll probably be used alot more than it deserves to be!
Watched the BBC Wales junction - it's good the "Wales" is part of the animation, but I think it be better right aligned with the "one" and perhaps in capitals.
