In the "BBC TWO is changing" thread, Psythor has put that Jana Bennett told him, at his university, on 3 March, "something to the effect that they're "thinking about" rebranding BBC One too, specifically mentioning to remove the dancers, and they'll be definately keeping the red."

The only good thing about BBC1's current on air identity is the red, everything else is rubbish.

And it's the one thing they kept from the balloon era!

All the more reason they should go back to it IMO; it wasn't red overkill but still the dominant colour. And it had a clock, but sadly I feel they would scrap that if the balloon did rise from the ashes.

This is planet Earth, so the chances of that happening are remote IMO.

Why are people obsessed by having a clock?

As has been explained many times here, the current branding has a clock, but it was dropped and never used*. There is no connection between the current 'look' and the absense of a clock. No matter what branding they change to next, it's very unlikely to make a reappearance

*and this was an asthetic desicion, not anything to do with digital delay

Someone must have seen the current brandings clock. Even though it has been dropped. Anyone got any captures of it or whatever from the playout?

Don't get too carried away! Laughing Just because some people would like to see the clock return, does not make them 'obsessed' by any means!

Tell me something I don't know. Rolling Eyes

I was also already aware that the current branding has a clock, I've seen it, but it is not in use on-screen, therefore I count this era as not having a clock.

I don't know why you felt the need to state the reasons behind the move, as I never said it was dropped due to delay. In fact, I already knew all of what you just mentioned.

It is a much discussed subject.

When I say 'people are obsessed' it doesn't mean that the individuals themselves are obsessed, more a general obsession

OK, just in case you didn't and to inform anyone else who happens to be popping into this thread
