at the end of Child of our Time this week, the bbc logo came up but surrounded by clouds, is this a new ident, and it looks pretty similar to the one on bbc 2 i saw where a channel 4 box esque slid across the screen with the apprentice on it and had a nwe bbc ident under it which is identical to the new website with the 2 peeling away
that is the default BBC logo. It appears normally when they break something.
AFAIK, it should usually only appear on the clean feed to the nations in place of trails and symbols, but there's normally black for 3 seconds on either side of a programme.

Do you like it? I made it myself. I should really have negotiated a deal whereby I get a royalty each time it is used.
It's nice. Did you do it in Photoshop, or something more broadcast-y?
With regard to the BBC One relaunch, it's probably best just to wait until it happens the way speculation on here is going. (Although an animated 1 like the 2 would be great!....and highly unlikely)
I've been in touch with people at BBC Programme Acquisition (or whatever it's called these days) about the new look Neighbours due to launch in a couple of weeks. The BBC will be broadcasting the Grundy-produced worldwide version of the show's closing credits (albeit without the remixed theme tune for the first few weeks) which features a right-aligned credits roller.
I've been informed that the credits were created specifically with the BBC ECP format in mind - so that the Beeb would no longer have to squash the credits to the side each time they showed a promo.
However, the new credits scroll begins at the 50% of the frame's width... not the 60% (at least) needed for current ECP compatibility. I'm wondering if the proposed BBC One rebrand will include less intrusive ECPs that now only fill a max of 50% of the screen. It would be bizarre if Grundy's had gone to the trouble of making BBC compatible worldwide credits only to cock-up a minor detail like that.
Also, although it's likely the first few weeks will use the existing 35 second long theme tune, latterly a new remix currently used elsewhere in the world will be adopted. This remix as it stands is 40 seconds long - the hope being that the BBC will allow this to be broadcast in its entirety.

Couldn't the Beeb just keep their mitts of the credits and wait till it's finished? No, too simple.
thats nearly the same as the end I saw but add more clouds in every corner, personally i would like to see the bbc logo in the globe for bbc1/2 but not the rest as it would seem outdated

No VT clocks on the clean feed? Or are they obsolete with everything coming off servers
