BBC One Network are showing an apology slide. They did briefly show a menu but that seemed to cause the CA's microphone to cut out so they went back to the apology slide.
BBC One Wales showing their own apology slide.
BBC One Scotland remained/returned to the News Special and then went in to Bargain Hunt late (they missed most of the opening titles).
The ash could certainly get in the way of satellite uplinks I guess
If things got that bad, wouldn't we get "No satellite signal is being received" on our consumer equipment long before Sky got it on their professional equipment (and much bigger satellite dishes)?
It was during the item on beetroot about half way through the show if anyone wants to see it. It played out for ages didn't it. We almost got the full Eastenders credits.
I think the version of The One Show on iplayer is normally the broadcast version, so that might include the problem too.
The health advantages of drinking Beetroot juice.
No word about the rouge ECP crashing in, it either during the remainder of The One Show, or after it..
anybody notice the eastenders credit squeeze / ecp that got played in the middle of the one show for about 15-20 seconds?
are they pre-recordered or generated live?
It makes it look like they're pre-recorded and that one was played by accident. It would explain the little jump we get at the beginning of each one - switching from the actual credits to the video of the squeeze.
The credit squeezes are made up of a background, the live video element of the on-air programme's credits, video element for the trail (or a still image if it's a squeeze that the announcer talks over) and the text. The piece of kit that generates the whole thing is put to air just before the squeeze is triggered, but like many DVEs (Digital Video Effects) its output is delayed by a frame compared to the input. Hence the jump. I think Red Bee chose not to have the DVE in circuit all the way through a programme where an end-credit squeeze was scheduled so that they could rehearse it midway through the programme. It's possible in The One Show's case that it was either 'rehearsed' on-air or scheduled at the wrong point!
