I don't think anyone said that the director cut to a slide - just that a slide was cut to air. Automation has a lovely habit of cocking something up the minute you begin patting yourself on the back for dealing quite nicely with what was probably a fairly nasty situation!

Maybe it cut to a breakdown caption on purpose because there was problems on BBC Two aswell round about that time so maybe there was power problems or something. Does anyone know what happened in the Scottish/Wales channels?

More likely there were problems on both channels because they come from rooms next door to each other and use the same technical infrastructure

Remember it's coming from a brand new facility, you got to expect a few teething problems
