BBC One News new titles today?

Sorry if i am wrong but on TV Home Asa has put that there could be new titles for BBC One News today (2/2/04). Is this right? I didn't catch the luchtime news. Could it launch tonight at 10 with Hew?

I didn't think so. Even I, a foreigner, couldn't possibly imagine that any channel would launch a new look to their news bulletins at ten o'clock in the evening. And besides that: if it were today that the BBC News got a new look, it would be in the media a million times.

When damnit, when? It's been a year and I need something to block out the sounds of those "virtual" orgasms over at the ITV News thread.

It's a bit strange how this has been done on BBC One isn't it? They get a brand new studio in Jan 2003, and yet over 12 months later, they still have the old titles, which are now completely misplaced. Although I like the network news titles - after all, all of the other corporate rearrangements of music and graphics were born out of these - I think it would be nice for them to get David Lowe to re-work the music, and for them to adopt the N24 style titles.

I did have a go at doing a mock of some new style titles... but they do need a bit of work still (mainly the ending)
