I read somewhere that bbc terrestrial news was going to br re-vamped soon, i think it needs it, as the bbc news 24 and world sets are much better, (especially bbc world) I think they could also do with introducing different presenters. I think the news at 6 should be 2 presenters with Ben Gaighgan and Carrie Gracie (the best news 24 presenters). the music does not have as much impact either - is something going to happen:?
The 10 is most likely to change. It has a new editor. It might go single-anchor. I mean by that that there will be just one regular presenter, like every other major bulletin. Who's it likely to be?
As we all know BBC News 24's presentation is similar to that of BBC national news. When I first heard the News 24 music, I couldn't get used to it - but I immediately realised it was intentionally made to sound a bit different from BBC national news.
BBC News 24 has the best style of presentation, idents, music, presenters etc - in a nutshell, they couldn't do anything more to improve it.
(Well, that's what I think anyway!)

Well I think BBC World has far better presentation, idents, music and presenters! But it's a matter of opinion isn't it!
A video image is made up of varying levels of volts. Black is 0v (0%), white is 0.7v (100%).
It is standard practise throughout the TV industry to have black set at 5% so the viewer is guaranteed to see all the detail.
World 'crush' their blacks, so some detail is lost. If it were possible, their blacks would be minus volts.
However, saying that, crushing the blacks gives the illusion of cleaner & sharper images. Try it yourself on your TV... increase your brightness & contrast controls - don't you think the picture looks soft by doing that?
Now decrease the brightness - doesn't it look sharper?

Am I being stupid here, but I dunno what y'all mean about BBC news presentation being better on one channel than another - I thought it was all generic (all cream and maroon with the 'boop-boop' music)? It's all the same to me...

Talking of levels - yesterday's LDN had dreadful mixing of sound - Emily (aaaargh- Jules is much better) was really quiet - so i turned it up - and then got deafened by a sting (one fo seemingly millions) and another really quiet news report!
damn them all - and i wish they would fade out their title music for the breakfast opt-ins

Ah there all going to probably keep the national news the same. I do think they should move or revamp the studio. They really need to pick it up!

BBC World's presentation is similar to BBC National News, they both use the same vision mixing techniques and the sports graphics are similar in layout, while BBC News 24 uses different Vision mixing techniques and totally different sports graphics(which are out of date now!), BBC News 24 is no where near!
