They look terrible.
A more reasoned argument later, when I can bear to think about it. But well done BBC, for buggering up all their presentation (apart from perhaps BBC4). I genuinely didn't think they would go for this idea. It's the worst possible they could have done.
Twa*s.

Well Lambie-Nairn are making more so maybe some rock and roll to introduce Rememberance Day service? Or how about a bit of tango for the News?

The aforementioned history of the BBC ONE idents is here:
BBCi - About the BBC - BBC ONE Idents history
Reading through the press release, I have just noticed that there are no more Irish BBC ONE idents! Which BBC NI use almost exclusively (with some use of the current people idents during the day) Oh well, if they are determined to go down the dancing people route I don't think we'd appreciate an Irish dancing ident. There are no Scottish ones, either, though Wales is represented. Maybe the nations will get their turn in the second wave of idents. BTW, will the region name still appear - Geraint if you're reading this please tell us!

Def no clock! Our region has been supplied with Capoeira - the brazilian dancers - for use as the ident before the news.

They apparently have a 'serious' ident tailored for news, so that'll be interesting - unless the clock is saved!

We haven't been supplied with a clock to use for the one, six and ten o'clock news'.

As I understand it, the clock clocks off into the Ten O'Clock News on Thursday evening.

The new idents are a bit like the old BA tail-fins. All ethnic and multi-cultural. And we know what happened to them!
