What can possibly be more 'inclusive' than a picture of the whole bleedin' world, as in globes and balloons?

I agree - but they're not bad

They look terrible.

A more reasoned argument later, when I can bear to think about it. But well done BBC, for buggering up all their presentation (apart from perhaps BBC4). I genuinely didn't think they would go for this idea. It's the worst possible they could have done.

Twa*s.

Oh no!

Any bets on a nice bit of hip-hop into the Meditation for Good Friday?

Well Lambie-Nairn are making more so maybe some rock and roll to introduce Rememberance Day service? Or how about a bit of tango for the News?

Notes to Editors

A history of the BBC ONE idents is available.

Images are available, for press use only, on the BBC bulletin board via the Specials folder.

Where is this bulletin board

The aforementioned history of the BBC ONE idents is here:

BBCi - About the BBC - BBC ONE Idents history

Reading through the press release, I have just noticed that there are no more Irish BBC ONE idents! Which BBC NI use almost exclusively (with some use of the current people idents during the day) Oh well, if they are determined to go down the dancing people route I don't think we'd appreciate an Irish dancing ident. There are no Scottish ones, either, though Wales is represented. Maybe the nations will get their turn in the second wave of idents. BTW, will the region name still appear - Geraint if you're reading this please tell us!

They apparently have a 'serious' ident tailored for news, so that'll be interesting - unless the clock is saved!

Def no clock!  Our region has been supplied with Capoeira - the brazilian dancers - for use as the ident before the news.

How do you know?

We haven't been supplied with a clock to use for the one, six and ten o'clock news'.

Wow, these idents look really cool!
I personally think they are far superior to the balloon with more variety than just flying over a different location.
I know I'm probably in the minority here but, well done BBC (again!)
Roll on BBC 3..........

As I understand it, the clock clocks off into the Ten O'Clock News on Thursday evening.

The new idents are a bit like the old BA tail-fins. All ethnic and multi-cultural. And we know what happened to them!

Pfffft, so much for inclusive.

As has been said no Scots or NI representation, and all of the English ones announced are in the south of England.

If that's inclusive I'm a banana.

Watch out, Jason, Ms H will try to peel you!

How does the Rainbow spoof go? One skin, two skin, three.........

Oh Christ, that would be a fate worse than death...

But I can see it now, 'This is BBC1 in the North East and Cumbria' whilst showing some dancing idiots in London.

They'd better improve things soon or all Ms H is going to achieve is alienating half the country!
