That's when they're launching

Mid-morning to be exact.

So why does the press release say Friday AM?

But on the BBC Press Release it says they're launching on Friday morning? Confused

Perhaps you should wait until Thursday lunchtime before passing judgement.

Personally I think they look fab - no more computer generated cack. (although BBC 2's new ones are nice)

But why is that box on the left? surely it will clash with the BBC News 24 clock during trailer playouts for BBC1? Confused

The Balloons weren't computer generated though! (duh) and I think the News 24 Clock will either stop being shown during idents or they are planning on moving it to the top right or something.

Maybe they'll get rid of the clock during promos!

BBC News 24 is getting a re-launched graphics set soon, it was reported on media guardian, perhaps this will happen in time for the box era.

Could be Friday - I was told by a BBC employee that they were launching on Thurs. She could have been wrong (she don't work in presentation, so it's plausable).

Friday sounds more accurate if the press release says so. After having a bit of time to think, what relavance does a bunch of foreign dancers have to the BBC's main TV channel? not much as far as I can see!

I do hope they still hold a level of authority which is still associated by most people with BBC ONE. The balloons did this perfectly.

These idents do look cool (they remind me of BBC America/Canada actually).

But, I have to ask. What about the box? Are we to assume the BBC Three box (if there ever will be one) will be on the left too? Bad call I reckon.

Well, come on, lets face it, BBC ONE has become seriously pap the past few years. It can't get any worse really can it? Can it? Oh god... Surprised

I think so. I thought they would do something like htis when I first saw the new 2 idents.

Actually, this look may work, the ideals are sound, lets hope they are sleek in their use.

The 'People' are from all the many ethnicities(not sure on spelling) from around the world. So this is similar to the globe concept, but just rehashed with the people factor.

From the 'Locations' we have seen, they are all in the UK, so that is like bring the peoples and cultures of the World to all the places in the UK.

The music will be a single theme tune, which is played in different 'Styles' from hip hop, to ballet etc

and the colour scheme of red and white is maintained through-out the idents, and presumable the graphics and other pres elements.

All in all it shapes up to be an unusual twist to the balloon ideals of bringing the best of the world to all of the uk, with the people factor making it more relevent to the viewers, and coupling it with a clear format, tieing it all together!

The argument I'm having great trouble with is when Ms H tries to tell me that this new image will be more 'inclusive'.

What can possibly be more 'inclusive' than a picture of the whole bleedin' world, as in globes and balloons?

Another logic failure at the Beeb, methinks.

Keep the balloons! Oh well, too late!

Now when will they first appear?

This is Friday's schedule:

06:00
 Breakfast (Magazine Programme)

09:00
 Holiday Snaps (Travel)

09:10
 Action Animals (Nature)

10:00
On A Street in Jerusalem - A Meditation for Good Friday

11:00
 The Miracle Maker (Animation)

My guess is looking at this schedule, the first will open Breakfast.
