BBC One Love 2014!

Am I the only one starting to get so bored of hearing what sounds like a baby's mobile music, playing through every junction on BBC One? Oh god, please make it stop.

Call me unpopular, but I actually like these idents..... I don't like the new music though, prefer the one from last year...


I don't understand why they're so hated on here.

I think it's because it's just got no meaning to it. I think people like them visually but it's what does 'Love 2014' actually mean?

I wouldn't mind it nearly as much if it just had a proper worthwhile final form up; post-reveal it's practically static. The stings are very nice though.

That and the fact that it's just lazy to essentially re-use the same idea with a 4 instead of a 3.

Try working somewhere that has BBC1 on in the background all day!

Often wondered about this when I'm sat at my dentists reception area. Surely there is only so much of Heir Hunters, Morons Might Move to Australia etc. those poor staff members can handle.

Not forgetting those sheriff's!

How can one possibly get enough of people who've been dodging their debts being taken to task?

I think I'd just assumed that the music was either library track or specially composed, but it's also being used on a promo for BBC Playlister that's on 6 Music a fair bit. A bit of Shazamming has revealed that it's a new Mint Royale single:

Damn! That'll be me eating my words - I usually really like Mint Royale...

Surprised they'd use this on an ident as it gives certain prominence to a particular artist. I know loads of different tracks are used on trailers, but I'd have thought an ident would be different given the heavier rotation.

Hasn't stopped BBC Two with Alt-J.
