'Swinside Stone Circle' is a particular favourite of BBC North (Leeds) and is one of 2 (I think) BBC One Idents they show! I get bored of seeing it all the time - the BBC should at least have given us Byland Abbey (which I think has now been withdrawn) as at least it shows somewhere in the region!

Ideas for new balloon idents...

Often on BBC North they seem to use the same baloon music even if it doesn't match the pictures (The 3 notes such as on English 10 - London etc), Occassionally they show an ident complete with its unusual music (such as English 2 - South Downs, which always sounds out of place over the wideshot of the studio)

anyway popular baloons used by Look North include:

Welsh 2 snowdon

Welsh 3 Trees (no longer in use)

I have been looking on TV Room, and found some very nice idents that you lucky people in England (not sure about Scotland) get to see.

Here are the BBC One idents that are NEVER shown in Wales:

No wonder I'm bored with the same Idents shown on BBC 1 Wales! Smile

Actually James, if you care to note, the above idents *DO* appear. You just need to keep your eyes peeled Wink

Erm...the only time I've seen these ones - is when BBC One Wales is run by BBC ONE on the Deaf Zone.

In the evenings: 5.35 until the N24 handover I never ever, see these:

C'Mon BBC Wales start as u mean to go on - give us the brilliant English idents, and bring back the the other two Felixstowe variations that you stupidly scrapped! Smile

Its great that BBC ONE Wales shows some of its idents in 14:9 on analogue.

I presume you get 14:9 idents before 14:9 programmes. Here in England (on analogue) we get 4:3 idents before all programmes except the regional news.

I'm sure this is in Scotland:

The BBC have taken away some of their good idents, like this one for example:

Are these 2 the same castle?

The second photo (With the orangey clouds) you show was filmed high above Mt. Snowdon in North Wales - not in Scotland.

I'm off to N. Wales next week so I'll keep an eye for the balloon Wink

BBC Wales never scrapped Felixtowe, these were withdrawn by London land and subsequently went in the nations. All the Welsh Balloons are still in play and none of them have been withdrawn, although they have in England.

Needles, Angel of the North, Forth Bridge, Claymill(?) and Blackpool can be seen in Wales James. You should start watching more of the BBC during the evening and less of the competition Wink
